I was so excited when Renee told me she chose the quaint streets of Princeton and Princeton University for the backdrop of her engagement session. It was a beautiful summer day and we met in front of the ice cream store. We made our way around town and ended at the University. Jay and Renee will be getting married at Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman NJ! Can’t wait!
On their engagement, “Having known each other for a long time and then falling in love, it didn’t take long for Renee and Jay to start talking about the next step. Jay already had a ring that was given to him by his beloved Grandma Winnie before she passed away. She told him, “make sure she’s worth it” and Jay took this very seriously. After deciding that Renee was certainly “worth it” he had the ring re-sized to fit her and set out to pop the question. Jay knew that she didn’t want a big, elaborate, public proposal. So, he decided on an intimate, private moment in the new home they had just bought together.
It was a Friday afternoon and Renee was hanging out in the kitchen. Jay came home and greeted her, as he always does. He told her that his grandmother, Helga, had gotten her a gift, presented her with a bag and told her to open it. She reached in the bag and pulled out two mugs depicting animals in different suggestive positions, items that Renee had enthusiastically admired when she first saw similar mugs at Jay’s parents’ house. Renee was so excited about the mugs that Jay had to tell her to look further inside of them.
When she did, she found a small jewelry box and looked up to see Jay down on his knee. He asked her to marry him and she said “of course” before she even saw the ring (not that it would have changed her mind). Jay then surprised her with the news that their friends and family were coming over to celebrate. It was perfect.”
