I absolutely loved this New York Wedding at Fire Island off of Long Island! This place is magical! The moment you get off the ferry, it’s like you’re on a vacation at a tropical resort! There are no cars on the island so to travel anywhere, you have to walk on an elevated wooden boardwalk walkway! The foliage reminded me of the wild weeds in Southern Florida and the architecture was modern and clean.

The Preparation

Jeff and Chris both got ready in the vacation home they rented. They brought their Schnauzer pup that was dressed to match the wedding! I absolutely loved the house! So much natural light came in so it was a pleasure photographing all of their details in various areas of the house! Once everyone was dressed, we all headed out to the ceremony spot on the beach! It was kinda on the other (short) end of the island. It was fun walking down the boardwalk and walking past all of these cute houses!

The Ceremony

When we finally arrived at the Whyte Hall, cocktail hour refreshments were being passed out to arriving guests! There was also a spot to leave your shoes behind and exchanged them for a fresh pair of flip flops! Just before the climb down to the beach, bandanas with the couples wedding date and slogan were passed out, so that they can be waved in the air at the end of the ceremony! Once everyone was in their place, the wedding began and it included their cute Schnauzer pup! Everyone was teary eyed during the sweet and beautiful ceremony!

The Reception

Everyone was led to the cocktail hour and before collecting your shoes, there was a tub of water and fresh towel to wash off the sand! Cocktail hour had wonderful hors d’oeuvres! Afterward, the couple was introduced! The door slid open and they had their first dance in the modern and trendy reception area! I loved the hanging Edison bulbs! Dinner was served as passed hors d’oeurves as well and I’ve found that to be a trend in Long Island Weddings! Everyone was dancing like crazy all night long! In the last hour, hang over food was served; mini tacos and mini burgers! This wedding was so fun and I loved the vibe! Congratulations Jeff and Chris!
